EODC Forum 2024 – June 10 - 11

We are pleased to announce that the EODC Forum 2024, from June 10th – 11th was a great success! 

We would like to thank the 166 registrants from 87 organisations, spanning 11 different countries (AT, DE, CH, FR, IT, ES, CZ, SI, NL, PL, HU) for their in-person attendance and active participation. It was great to see and feel the support that the EODC receives from the public, partners and colleagues in the Earth observation (EO) community and beyond! 

 

The EODC Forum 2024 was co-organised by Urban Innovation Vienna and the FFG Aeronautics and Space Agency.

    • UIV Urban Innovation Vienna: Barcamp “Connecting Earth Observation and Users Towards Achieving Climate-Neutral Cities”

      The session "From Above: New Perspectives on Familiar Challenges," hosted by the Vienna Geospace Hub focuses on using satellite and geodata to tackle the climate crisis and develop climate-resilient environments. This agenda-free Barcamp encourages participants from cities, municipalities, academia, and industry to share ideas and collaborate on practical solutions. The accompanying innovation lab, operated by Urban Innovation Vienna GmbH, leverages earth observation data for sustainable urban planning, emphasizing a broad, interdisciplinary network. All attendees are welcome to contribute and explore innovative urban solutions.

      Die Session "Von oben betrachtet: Neue Perspektiven auf bekannte Herausforderungen", veranstaltet vom Vienna Geospace Hub von 11:15 bis 12:45 Uhr, beleuchtet den Einsatz von Satelliten- und Geodaten zur Bewältigung der Klimakrise und zur Gestaltung klimaresilienter Räume. Dieses Barcamp ohne feste Agenda ermöglicht es Teilnehmenden, ihre Ideen, Fragen und Kritik einzubringen, um gemeinsam praxisorientierte Lösungen zu entwickeln. Zielgruppe sind Städte und Gemeinden sowie Experten aus Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft, die zusammen Use-Cases diskutieren und Verwaltungsherausforderungen adressieren möchten. Das begleitende Innovationslabor des Vienna Geospace Hub, betrieben von der Urban Innovation Vienna GmbH, nutzt Erdbeobachtungsdaten für nachhaltige Stadtentwicklung, wobei besonderer Wert auf die Einbindung eines breiten, interdisziplinären Netzwerks gelegt wird. Alle Interessierten sind eingeladen, sich aktiv einzubringen oder teilzunehmen, um innovative Lösungen für städtische Problemstellungen zu explorieren.
